About: Wekh/Bin, 30, they/them.
Wekhter is an artist who has many years of experience doing professional illustration, website management, online shopfront management and design. They have worked extensively with book design for physical printing, and have even worked specifically with coloring books. They hope to make this one look nice. Fingers crossed.

Q: Is this really gonna be an actual coloring book featuring illustrations from some of the talented artists in our wonderful fandom???

A: Coloring and activity, yes. We are working with printers that specialize in coloring books, and hope to bring the best possible coloring AND activity experience possible. Or, within budget, at least. I mean, the paper is gonna be uncoated and stuff, so.

Q: Is there going to be merch?

A: Indeed. Currently we are looking into clear sticker sheets (with things like empty voice bubbles and blushy cheek blorbs you can add to your coloring pages), pencil pouches, clear files. And the head mod has another wild scheme or two that will be pending some testing and the results of the interest check. Follow the twitter account for more info.

Q: If this zine is completely SFW, why do contributors have to be 18+?

A: A few different reasons. In a for-profit project, there is legal grey area in regards to labor laws that differ from place to place, so just to circumvent those grey areas completely, we ask that all contributors are at minimum the standard age for legal adults in the US, which is 18.

Q: But I'm almost 18… can I apply pls?/The legal age for adults in the place I live is younger than 18!/I can assure you, I am very mature for a 15 year old.

A: Neat! But you have to really and actually be 18 years old when you apply. You're more than welcome to buy the coloring book, though!

Q: How many contributors are you going to accept?

A: The plan at this time is to take on around 20 artists and up to four guests. As such, the layout of the book is going to be approximately 32 pages inside, 24 of which being coloring pages (⅔ of the book) and 8 of which being puzzles and activities (⅓ of the book).

So the idea is that a third of the artists will be accepted to also do a second page with an activity on it and theme/decorate it however they like! There will be an option on the application asking if the artist would like to be considered for the second activity page or not, and a completely optional space for a relevant theme or pitch for said activity. This may change if a majority of artists don't want to do a second piece. (Click here to take the interested artists mini-questionnaire).

As for the merch items, since they won't need very entailed designs (except maybe the pencil case), these slots will also be offered to accepted and interested contributors!

HOWEVER!! If the interest check has an overwhelmingly positive response, we may look into expanding the length of the coloring book to accept more artists! So be sure to share this zine's page with all your friends and mutuals, tweet about us, share in your discord servers. The more copies we are projected to sell, the lower the cost to print, which means we can print more pages!!

Q: What the heck do u mean by activities??

A: Please check out the Contributor Info page for more details and examples!!!

Q: Is there an overall theme for the coloring book?

A: Yes!!! The theme for Volume 1 is: Unlikely Partnerships!

This will feature scenes of two (or more!) characters who you might not normally think of as buddies, and putting them in a fun situation where they would hang out!!

So for example, Tsu and Koda hanging out at a cat cafe. Sato, Kirishima, Tetsutetsu and Shoji on a bowling team. Monoma and Aoyama getting manicures together. You can absolutely involve teachers/adults/pro heroes/villains in your pitches, too!

Q: What kinds of pitches will you be looking for?

A: We will above all else be above all else looking for diversity in characters featured, unique situations, and a sense of humor! The sort of things that would be eye-catching and fun to color in. The scenes should encourage pulling lots of cool colors from your crayon box that you usually don't get to use.

Q: Do the scenes have to be canon compliant?

A: Nah. You can submit (SFW) AUs if that's your thing. If it would be fun to color, pitch it! Like if you want to draw Aoyama riding a unicorn, I'd totally color the heck outta that.

Q: What themes are not allowed?

A: We would prefer to not bring shippy things into this zine. No romance pls, platonic camaraderie only.

!!Application Hot Tip #1!!

Although not mandatory, on the applications we will be looking for:


• Example pieces that don't have an overly complicated design
• Example pieces with a sense of humor and/or unique situation
• Example pieces that feature a variety of characters - if possible, include a piece or pieces involving characters in your pitch(es)!

There will also be an optional spot for artists to submit a piece that is either a neat sketch or line art of a piece (with the colors removed) as an example of how your work would work as a coloring page, OR an additional example piece that especially highlights your line work. But ONCE AGAIN, this is completely optional.

For the pitches, we will be looking for:

• Diversity of characters that you wouldn't usually see together (if a group of more than two, they don't all have to be odd combinations, but there should be at least one unexpected character in the mix)
• Fun or silly situations that would encourage the use of bright colors

Each coloring page will have the artist's credit name at the bottom and, optionally, their social media handle. We plan to encourage people to post their colored page on social media and tag the BNIA twitter, and if the artist is interested, to tag the artist as well! It could be a fun way for buyers to interact with our contributors, and show the interesting and unique ways their designs were colored in!

Activity pages will be either pitched on an application by an interested artist, or can be assigned to an interested artist who doesn't have an idea but still wants to do one. They will be fun little puzzles and junk, such as:

But, you know... like, better looking than these are. These examples were hastily thrown together by Mod Archie, who is definitely a writer, NOT an artist. But there really is an answer to the second puzzle! Go on, try it! Kacchan is begging you to.

Mods Archie and Wekh are puzzle enthusiasts, so they can help with any step of the process. If needed, they can design the actual puzzle to work within your own idea/concept, or they can work with you to assign you an activity page that you would enjoy making! But you are more than welcome to design the whole thing if you'd like, and the layout and art for the page are completely up to you!
